Stowe pickleballers, we have some good news for you. At its June 5, 2024, meeting, the Stowe Recreation Commission approved a plan to re-build the Memorial Park tennis/pickleball courts using some, or all, of the $175000 previously approved for renovation of the courts. This fall, Parks and Recreation Department employees will remove and discard the existing chain link fencing, break up and remove the cracked concrete slab, dig out the failed sub-base under the slab and prepare a proper, level base. In the spring of 2025, the new base will be paved with 2” of asphalt, the courts will be surfaced, painted, and lined for 6 pickleball courts. Finally, new fencing will be installed, including an 8’ tall interior fence between the 2 banks of courts and 4’tall fences between courts on each side. We now plan to re-orient the courts so that the courts will face the ice rink lower parking lot. This re-orientation will give us about 8' from the base and side lines to the fences and 16' between courts. As the larger Memorial Park re-development plan is uncertain in both timing and probability, this solution will give us many years of play on good courts. The plan will now be presented to the Selectboard for approval and implementation planning.

Hi All, any people want to play Tuesday in waterbury at 10 am or we can play even at 9 am, there are 4 courts lined for pickle ball and surface is good for playing. Weather is suppose to be nice and sunny.
